    This is the latest book from Irish gardening journalist Shirley Lanigan and follows her previous book also featuring Guincho called ‘Guide to Irish Gardens, 2001. This book is an invaluable guide for anyone wanting to explore Irelands rich gardening heritage and provides details of many private gardens that are open to the public. 2017

    A detailed inventory of trees and shrubs of 29 gardens in Ireland with significant plant collections. Initiated by the Earl of Rosse in the late 1970s and funded by the Heritage Gardens Committee of An Taisce. 1985

  • Champion Trees of Britain and Ireland - Owen Johnson

    Guincho until recently grew two champion trees featured in this book. The beautiful yellow flowered bottlebrush tree Banksia marginata died from a fungus around 2015. The New Zealand native Pseudopanax crassifolius was planted in 1954 and is the champion for height. An essential guide for big tree spotters! 2011

    Likely to be the first publication to feature Guincho with a pleasingly informative and lengthy account of the garden in its relatively early years. Elizabeth Mackenzie knew the garden well having visited on several occasions during different seasons. The five page article lists over 80 species she considered worthy of mention.
